“As a parent, I did next to nothing other than to occasionally ask how it was going. Knowing that she was improving a skill and part of group doing the same training inspired her even as the weather turned cold. The program allowed her to develop the specific skill of taking set pieces and was immediately noticed by her club coach when returning to team training in November. He now asks her to take free kicks and even has her taking corners. Most importantly, my daughter emphatically wanted to join another Rapid Skill Development kit with the start of the new year. I can already see her first touch going to a new level after just a few weeks.”
Doug Day, Connecticut, parent u15 elite daughter

RSD 1st Touch & Passing trains players on the 2 most important skills in soccer.
A skilled RSD 1st Touch & Passing player has fewer turnovers (they keep the ball) and higher pass completions (they make great plays) to help earn more playing time

RSD Striking & Ball Manipulation teaches proper long distance passing & shooting techniques
Ball Manipulation refers to being able to bend the ball

Players love how it feels to see their work payoff quicker

Parents love seeing the joy back in their kid's training & the ultra-affordable price of less than $100

We love teaching the latest in high performance training and guiding the players to strive for their personal best

Day 1: Players are granted access to tools to set individual goals, complete a weekly training plan template, finish a self-assessment on work ethic, grit and ball skills. These steps create their baseline from which they strive to improve.

Typical Weekly Schedule: Minimum of 2 practices, 30 minutes each; average commitment of the players enrolled in RSD programs currently is 4 practices, 40 minutes each. They most often train at home, at school or club before or after practice.

Training Equipment Needed: Ball, cones, training partner or a playback surface such as a wall, smartphone with a camera at least once per week

Measuring Skill Improvement: A before & after video comparison shows technique improvements. Our Skill Ladder tracks improvements in skill scores at their technical limits. HIIT training captures skill changes in game-like endurance and fatigue conditions.

Self & Team Motivation: Although players join from across the USA and Europe, Coach Keating uses technology and the psychology of individual & team goal achieving to help players become intrinsically motivated. See below for a trainer moderated, kid safe, discussion forum of players training in RSD today.

RSD is ideal for players who

  1. want to learn to train outside their comfort zones to get better, faster than they ever have before

  2. thrive on more trainer & player interaction to help stick to their commitments

  3. enjoy being a part of a nationwide group training toward a common goal

"Hello everyone. My daughter, 13, has trained in the programs since she was 11. My son, 12, has now joined. Both are fully entrenched in Captain Elite's train on their own kits. I have seen major changes in their control, touch, and speed of play. This has then morphed into them having more time to get their head up and "see" the field better than their competition. The trainings that they now do on their own have separated them from the middle of the pack to the tops of their teams. Beyond the "pitch" improvement, they have gained confidence, drive and self-discipline, which will carry through to many other things in life. Interestingly, my 9 year old has seen their success and now wants to join. Love this program." - M. Travis (Raleigh, NC)
“It is really important to know that working with CE is fantastic for skill development, but if your player really gives themselves over to the process of the program they will achieve unforeseen results. I am capable of training my daughter but the experience for her of committing to long term goals with other players in various programs like Speed of Play, RSD Direct Set Pieces, Raptor 360 and now the RSD 1st Touch & Passing has been priceless. Truly. The fact that her and her CE teammates are not only accomplishing their training goals, but are smashing the expectations of themselves, the parents, and Mike is profound. And they are doing it consistently.” Jim Kennedy, California

RSD video-based training is adapted from Anders Ericsson’s latest high performance training research. Individuals are assigned to skill training groups limited in size to work toward common goals they set on day 1. Players learn three levels of increasingly intense training: Technique, +Training Zone, HIIT Training

“The challenge to dare and train outside of their comfort zone - allowing themselves to be uncomfortable... I can say as a parent, Captain Elite has and will continue to prepare Averey to be a part of a collegiate team because she understands the mantra of ‘if it is to be, it is up to me’. I have watched Averey continue to push outside of her comfort zone largely due to Coach Keating's reassurance that you cannot grow without failure.”
Amy Wyscarver, parent ECNL player

RSD is different from our fully independent training kits like Raptor 360 & Speed of Play Kills that can be started and stopped at anytime. In RSD training:
  • the program begins when the team is full and lasts 90 days (60 days if accelerated program)
  • players set goals, see a training dashboard roll up for the team and are held accountable to commitments
  • players learn three methods to train outside their comfort zone
  • players receive guidance & inspiration from Coach Keating through live Chalk Talk broadcasts, tasks assignments, team discussions and team challenges
“My son is currently a U16 soccer player that decided to make Captain Elite his primary training and development vehicle several years ago. He would agree with me that this decision was one of the smartest he has made regarding his soccer development, possibly the smartest. He has fully engaged the online video-based training in several CE kits (Raptor 360, Speed Kills, RSD Direct Kick Set Pieces & currently he’s in RSD 1st Touch and Passing).  We could not be happier with his development.
Patrick Smith, North Carolina

"Overall great program. Liam's on the field improvement is nothing short of amazing in such a short amount of time. We're ready for the next training kit!" J. Barns, parent of 8 year old who completed the RSD Strivers program for 6-10 year olds (Oak Ridge, NC)
